Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday afternoon!
One of my goals for 2011 is to make more of a community out of this little blog. With that in mind, I have a little idea, but it requires a lot of reader participation.
I'm so stoked to start featuring some of you on my Sweaty Wednesday posts. Your activity goals for the year are amazing and I can't wait to see what we all accomplish. Sharing your goals has been really inspiring not only to me, but to other readers as well. This Wednesday, I will be posting everyone's goals. Each Wednesday after, I will be featuring one or two ladies along with their progress, a exercise-related topic for thought/discussion and a traditional Sweaty Wednesday workout gear photo. If you are interested in participating, check out the original post here. And keep those goals and photos coming!
Now, I'd like to take this idea and expand it to the style side of BCC. I'd like to create a "Blue Collar Collective" feature for Sundays. What would it include? Well, you know I love a deal. Furthermore, I love the creativity that limited funds and resources brings to one's style, and I want to see what you put together on a budget. So, email me a picture of yourself in an outfit that cost $100 or less (including shoes, excluding jewelry) and be part of the Blue Collar Collective.
Make the subject of your email "Blue Collar Collective" and include your name, blog (if you have one), and outfit details, including prices. Items can be thrifted, vintage, gifts, handmade,
stolen borrowed or just great deals. I love magazines just as much as the next gal, but there's nothing more inspiring than real ladies on real budgets. How does your creativity trump your wallet?
This only works if you're willing to share, so show me what you've got, ladies!
