30/30: hurrrah!

3-7-11 1

Aaaaaaand, I'm done.

This outfit is the grungy cousin of yesterday's outfit.  I'm so glad I included this blazer in the challenge, because it's perfect for chilly days when you don't want to wear a coat.  All that fur keeps my neck and chest so toasty and warm!

This 30 for 30 was slightly less enjoyable than the first one I did.  However, I think a large part of that was not the clothes, but the time of year.  Like most people, the end of the winter is the hardest time of year for me.  I just find myself very antsy and 100% infected with a serious case of cabin fever.  So, instead of starting the season with a challenge like in the fall, I was trying to finish a season with one.  And let's be honest, I'm just not feelin' the winter threads anymore.

That being said, it was a pretty good exercise in style over substance.  I mentioned when we first started that I had not pre-planned any outfits.  And it's true.  Not a single one.  Not only that, but I didn't even put much consideration into the pieces that I picked.  I just went with the pieces that I liked at the moment and then threw in a bunch of basics.  And, of course, anything that needed altered.  Hey, I ended up with 4 new items thanks to that strategy!

This was completely opposite of how I approached the first challenge.  While they worked out totally differently, I think they were both a success.  And now, I can finally enjoy the rest of my closet ... and believe it or not, I'm wearing this darn skirt again!
