looking back

denim and scarf

5-18-10 1

It's been raining like crazy for the last couple of days, which has been leaving me a little less than inspired.  The dismal weather, paired with a hefty workload, has left zero time for outfit photos.  It's times like this that I like to take a trip down memory lane to see what I was wearing around this time last year.  And even the year before that.

One thing I have truly loved about documenting my outfits over the last 2+ years is seeing how my styled has evolved.  I wouldn't even use the word change - it's been a definite evolution.  There are so many photos from BCC's earlier days that quite frankly make me cringe.  Once in a while, I'll come across a look that I really like, but honestly, I think things just get better with age.  And it seems my personal style is no exception.

For one, the hair.  Oh, the hair.  Can we all just agree that it looks better now than it did back then?  Anywho... overall, I think my style is much more "me" these days.  It's not just a bunch of random separates thrown together into combinations that work.  It's carefully selected pieces that express who I am in a consistent sartorial declaration.  This evolution seems to actually be saving me money.  I buy far fewer pieces, invest in smarter purchases and seek out more unique pieces in thrift and vintage stores instead of malls and department stores.

Do you have a blog or document your daily style?  What has it done for you?
