the short of it

6-3-11 1

Hello, Monday!  I'm feeling like this is going to be a good week.  No particular reason - just in a good mood I guess.  I've talked before about feeling the ebb and flow of personal style - and I think it extends beyond the wardrobe.  Every couple of months, I have a week (or 2 or 3) where I just feel ... distracted.  Distracted by nothing, though, which seems to be the frustrating part of it.  As irritating as it is, I try to just ride it out, because I know that it, too, shall pass.  And I think it finally has.  Hello, sunshine!  Welcome back, mojo!

Haha - all that to say "Hey, today's a great day!" and "I loved this outfit!"  I'm actually headed to the mall a bit later today to get another pair of these shorts.  They were so cheap and are soooo light, airy and comfortable.  You all know that I rarely feel really comfortable in shorts, but these babies take the cake!  A little secret:  I bought them really big and then added 2 folds in the front to achieve that ever-forgiving paper-bag waist.  It was pretty brilliant if I do say so myself!

JCP blazer, $25 (wardrobe staple! - get the look) - Target tanks, $9 - Thrifted belt, $1
Strawberry shorts, $15 (get the look here, here or here - so many amazing choices!) - Target sandals, $17 (get the look)
Simply Vera for Kohl's bag, $30 (get the look - love these!)

I can tell that I'm getting better and better at building a lasting wardrobe, because the shorts are the only item in this outfit that is new this season.  My wallet thanks you, remixing!
