So easily distracted ...

What a crazy weekend!  My oldest friend tied the knot Friday night and I skated my heart out in my very first derby bout on Saturday.  While you'll have to wait until Wednesday to hear about the bout, I couldn't wait to share my outfit from the wedding.  I'm ebarrassed to admit that I was just as excited about my new dress as I was about the wedding.  Super nerd, I know!

I don't think I've ever been to a fall/winter wedding and was a little caught off guard by how hard it was to shop for.  While doing some work with Shelley at The Rag and Bone, I told her what I was looking for - something wedding-appropriate, weather-appropriate and different.  She came out with this dress and once I tried it on, it was love at first sight.  Made of the softest wool, it was the most perfect dress for the cool fall evening.

My next conundrum was finding a pair of shoes to match.  Imagine my sheer delight when I found them already in my closet!  These Jeffrey Campbell Woodies were not only the perfect touch to update this vintage beauty, but they ended up being perfect for the muddy lawn at the outdoor ceremony.  And relatively comfortable for a night of dancing.  I don't think I've ever been so comfortable at a wedding before!

And of course, that finishing touch ... the hair.  This is not what I had in mind at all when I set out to style my hair, but it magically fell into place and turned out amazingly perfect.  Epic, epic hair day!

What would you wear to a fall wedding?
